The Heart Specialty Associates is a growing group of board-certified cardiologists affiliated with St. Anthony's Medical Center.  Through the groups affiliation with St. Anthony's, along with the addition of a new cardiologist and new office locations, Heart Specialty Associates has the ability and privilege to participate in the mission of St. Anthony's Medical Center by providing the best care to every patient every day.
The Heart Specialty Associates cardiologists have board certifications in cardiology, echocardiography, electrophysiology, and peripheral vascular treatment.  The group has offices at the St. Anthony's Physician Office Center, Kirkwood, and the Shrewsbury area.
"The depth of our services is committed to prevention, detection, and treatment of cardiac and vascular problems," says Dr. David Morton, chief medical office of St. Anthony's Medical Center. "We are providing screenings for prevention of heart and vascular disease with up-to-date treatments provided in the state-of-the-art Heart and Surgical Pavillion at St. Anthony's Medical Center.
"Our care extends past the hospital stay with our nationally certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Program and our research-driven Outpatient Heart Failure program.  The Heart Failure program has proven outcomes that reduce the risk of hospitalization, re-admissions, and improve the quality and quantity of our patient lives.  Our recently opened Heart Evaluation and Rapid Treatment unit or "HEART" unit, allows for rapid cardiac evaluation and treatment in a dedicated outpatient cardiac care unit.
"We have provided fast-track testing services for heart and vascular disease through our accredited testing labs that are conveniently located within our offices.  This allows for "all-inclusive cardiovascular care.' Our cardiologists and staff have the ability to quickly accommodate referrals in order to rapidly move the patient into the necessary medical care that can be life saving!"
The treatment services provided by the Heart Specialty Associates include comprehensive cardiac and vascular care.  In addition to standard cardiac care, the treatment of peripheral vascular disease and varicose veins allows patients to be evaluated in a more complete and comprehensive manner.
As St. Anthony's continues to enhance it's services and technology, the Medical Center and Heart Specialty Associates are gaining recognition.  Patients are referred from the St. Louis bi-state region.

If your legs hurt, you might have arterial or venous disease. The good news is that both conditions can be detected through simple and painless screenings.

VARICOSE VEIN SCREENING
If you have varicose veins, you may have superficial venous reflux disease -- a condition that develops when the valves that usually keep blood flowing out of your legs back to the heart become damaged or diseased. This causes blood to pool in your legs. Other common symptoms include pain, swelling, leg heaviness and fatigue.
Our screening can help identify problem areas to help you get healthy legs again.

To schedule a screening, call
